The Joy of Cooking

There's a reason Eat, Pray, Love begins with eating. Truth be told, dear Elizabeth ate her way through Italy and India and Bali as well (that's why we love her!).

If eating is one of life's greatest pleasures, how did cooking become such a chore?!

Let's face it. Many of us have become, well, estranged from our kitchens. We stuff our cabinets and drawers with gadgets, spices and cookbooks until we become intimidated by our own clutter.

The best advice I ever heard is "cook what you love." So, that is where we begin. Love. We offer a variety of services that can help you fall in love with cooking again or perhaps for the very first time.

Kitchen Consultation—This is where we discover what you are passionate about and where you might have hidden it (so many cupboards, so little time!). An initial consultation generally takes about 2 hours. We'll discuss the foods you like to eat, how you tend to cook, and how your kitchen supports or sabotages your joy.

Kitchen Makeover—Did you know that most of us only use 20% of our kitchen equipment 80% of the time? Clearing out and organizing your kitchen is like putting on a new addition, minus the contractor and all the mess! I can help you simplify your kitchen to make room for fun, family and friends.

Culinary Arts—Cooking is an art form where less is often more. Less ingredients, more flavor. Less fuss, more fun. I can show you simple, elegant ways to prepare your favorite foods to make cooking and eating a joy.

Menu Planning—Cook what you love... What comes to mind? Are you drawing a blank? Reaching for a cookbook? Flipping through the phone book? If so, I can help. We'll start with the tastes, textures and savory smells of the foods you love and then build a menu that focuses on flavor and simplicity not complicated recipes.

Marketing Savvy—Grocery shopping. Fun. If these two concepts seem mutually exclusive, then this service is for you. I'll show you where your senses will come alive, which aisles to avoid at all costs, and what to put in your basket for quick, flavorful meals anytime. You might even find yourself having fun!

Taking Stock—Your grandparents did it, and so should you. A well-stocked refrigerator and pantry can save you time and frustration and make meal preparation quick and easy or slow and relaxed, depending on your mood. I can show you what to keep on hand for any occasion. I can also help you make space for it!

So, when do we start?!
